Starting her performing career at 14, she immediately made an impact with her blues powerhouse vocals, influenced by the likes of Big Mama Thornton (the now Bessie Smith), Sister Rosetta Tharpe, (the original soul sister) and Janis Joplin. Lottee was subsequently dubbed 'The New Blue-Eyed Queen of Soul' by American DJ, Deirdre Gilmartin of WDVR FM Radio.

Unusually for her age, Lottee has a depth of emotionality to her voice that enables her to deliver a wide range of genres including soulful ballads and belting RnB songs.
